    Team Garbalicious - seen Limbo?

I have been watching E3 coverage this year with great interest as I do every year, but one thing struck me about some of the games I was seeing destined for XBLA and PSN... they're eerily evocative of entries from this year's Imagine Cup.

Either in quality, graphical style or just the atmosphere being evoked through the overall feel, a number of these games just FEEL like games I've seen and played through the competition. So I want to reiterate something I've said before - if you don't do anything more with your games, you're crazy. You should look at Imagine Cup as a launching pad, a starting point, an initial building block in your game development career. Even if you didn't make it to the world finals - there are dozens of games I would like to see worked on and released to the public.

I'll leave you with this great example. Anyone who has seen the entry from Garbalicious will double-take at this:

There are others as well - this one was just one of the more obvious ones.

Get on the case - make your game and get it out there. Show the world what Imagine Cup is truly about - kickstarting your fame and fortune.

It's a funny case with Limbo. Right after we finished the round 1 submission, we thought that we had an art-style different from all other games on XBLA.

Shortly after we discovered limbo, and we all of a sudden started to fear that we would be accused of trying to rip off a much better game. Thankfully, people still encouraged our art-direction, and kept our spirit up.

We'll definitely be working towards making Garbalicious into a full game, that might live up to markeds' standards on XBL. If we manage to keep the schedule, there will be a demo around august, demonstrating the game's potential.
