    Leaderboard - Round 2

    Hi ,

I have a question to the leaderboard that will appear after 3th May:

will it be more detailed than the leaderboard for round 1 ?

I mean there will be a clear classification for team (position, score), for example that one team advanced on 3th place with ... points, and the other one didn't advanced because it was 30th ?

    Re: Leaderboard - Round 2

Last year, they've just mentioned who is advanced and who's not as this round. No more details are supplied!

Starting from the end you can better understand the reason for the beginning

No - we will only announce the top 6 teams advancing to Poland. Please also note that the 3rd May is when Round 2 closes, not when the results will be announced.

    Actually, I think it's quite a shame...

The Imagine Cup is for students, therefore it is meant to be educational, isn't it...

But all you hear from it when the results show up is "too bad, better luck next time"...

I can understand it between round 1 and round 2 as there are a lot of submissions...

But what about between round 2 and 3? "Only" 150 games, and they are all deeply reviewed, aren't they... The jury could at least put one little explanation, or the notation, to explain why the game didn't make it, whereas some others did...

I know all students think the same, and even more for those who already lived the "you didn't make it to the finals, byebye", and didn't even know if they were 7th or 150th...

I agree with you. But I think providing reviews about our game is not that easy even at 150. Still, I believe giving the rankings together with the result is not that hard is it? We just want to know how good our game is. :D

I'm not asking for a full review either... But I think that it is not that hard either to put along with the result a little commentary such as "your game didn't make it to the finals because... it wasn't funny enough /or/ it was too badly realized /or/ it  crashed in our hands /or/ the documents were not good enough..." and no more.

Because I don't "just want to know how good [my] game is", I mostly want to know how I could have made it better... Because THAT is the educational side the Imagine Cup is supposed to have.

As we are judged on five criteria (innovation, theme, fun factor, production, presentation), why don't we just get our marks on these?

It's our team's second try this year, and I just hope the end won't be as frustrating as it was last year :)

I agree on having some feedback, even if it's just one sentence.

Maybe the judges get to see this and maybe they'll do that for round 2, or at least next year.

It would be a lot more educational indeed and a lot more immersive for those who didn't make it to round 2 and/or the finals.

    So?

Are we going to have some feedback, or even just a rank?

Yeah, I (unfortunately) saw that too...

But don't you wan't to know what you did wrong?

It's sooo frustrating to quit like that... It's our second time, but it still feels the same, because we changed everything we thought was wrong last year... But if we knew exactly what it was, we could have focused on it...

So coaches, come on, these ranks have to be somewhere! Else winners couldn't have been chosen... Just put them online...

this is quite inappropriate, we all went through nights striving against our limits, breaking barriers and acquiring huge amount of information, enhancing expertises and testing over and over. Mr Andy said in other thread he is planing to post on his blog some information about the 150 games, but only after de world finals; big set of posts may it be. I'm as sad as frustrated, I didn't make it to Poland - some report about my game would be comforting.

MrAndy announced series of video casts/blog articles on some of this year's submissions, so let's just wait for it.

on some of this year's submissions

    That might be the problem....

They could just put the rank they gave on the judging criteria for each game, that would be much easier as they just have to exist somewhere...
