    Re: WHERE TO BUY SENSORS

The best place to get sensors that work well with the eBox and Windows Embedded CE, is here.  Development is supported in both C/C++ and .NET CF, and Phidgets offers a number of sensor types.  The Sensor modules connect to the USB ports on the eBox, and if you need a number of sensors beyond the number of USB ports available, then you can always install a hub.  A powered hub is required by certain Phidgets boards.

You can find other sensor platforms that connect to the RS-232 port on the eBox, rather than the USB ports.  One that I am familar with is the Serializer sold by the RoboticConnection.  The Serializer board provides an amazing array of I/O types all in one board, including GPIO, A2D, I2C, PWM, DC Motor Driver.  It also offers .NET CF and C/C++ library support.  You will still need to buy the actual sensor devices, but this board will give you the ability to connect to just about any interface required by the sensor hardware.

has info on one 7 inch touch screen on page 310 by Xenarc #705TSV- you need one with CE drivers for the USB touch input!!!

Some of the "in car PC" type web sites sell them such as

     http://store.mp3car.com/Xenarc_705TSV_7_TFT_LCD_Touchscreen_Monitor_p/mon-053.htm

Here are some other low cost analog sensors, if Phidgets does not have what you need:

    Manufacturer                                Part Number              Description
Allegro                                              ACS7 series                 Current Sensors - ranges up to 200A
Allegro                                              A1300 series               Hall Effect Sensors - magnetic fields
    AllSensors-Europe                         BARO-A-4V                    Barometric Pressure 600-1,100 mbar
Analog Devices                              ADIS & ADXL                 Acceleration, tilt, shock, rotation
    Analog Devices                              TMP35-37                     Temperature Sensors
Freescale Semiconductor            MPXA/MPXH                 Gas Pressure Sensors
Hanwei                                             MQ series                    CO2, CO, and various Gas Sensors
Honeywell                                        FS01, FS03                   Small, accurate Piezo-resistive load cells
    Humirel                                            HTM2500VB                Humidity sensors
MaxBotix                                         EZ series                       Sonar distance Sensors
Measurement Specialties             MSP-300                      Pressure sensors to 10,000 PSI
MSI Sensors                                     FC21/FC22                    Load cells - to 100lbs of force
    Panasonic                                         AMN series                  Motion Sensors
    Sharp                                                 2xxx                               IR distance Sensors

Many of these can be interfaced to the 5V analog inputs of the Phidgets board. There is also info on the Phidgets CE drivers on page 292 on the link at the top of this reply.
